Where do you get the inspiration for your recipes?
Family, friends, seasonal produce, restaurants, food cravings, and other food enthusiasts social media/blogs/websites.

When and why did you become a vegetarian/vegan?
Kacie: In 2010, shortly after I began my doctorate program in nutrition, foods, and exercise. Initially, I began eating as a vegetarian while on the Daniel’s Fast (1/1/10). Since Lent was coming up, I decided to continue with this fast. Further, as I read more about how food is grown and transported to the grocery store and handling of animals, I became intrigued with learning how to prepare and eat locally grown food (primarily vegetables and grains).
Randall: I’ve been one my whole life.

What’s your background in food?
We have no formal culinary training. Kacie’s background is in program development implementation and evaluation (primarily in nutrition/exercise programs). Randall has his entire life experience growing up and cooking vegan.

Do you follow a particular diet?
We don’t follow a particular diet. We partake in eating all foods except for meat or byproducts of meat.

Do you have a favorite food?
Randall’s favorite food is pasta. Kacie’s favorite food is Trinidadian doubles.
